London Tipton says, "Yay Me! I'm Having a Baby!"

This was a complete surprise to me and anyone else who have been fans of these stars especially the ex-Tipton Hotel socialite. Since her graduation aboard the now non-existing S.S. Tipton, London Tipton's popping out some babies. So far, she's having her first one. The baby's father in question is a washed up singer who haven't made a good song in years. History about these two is slim besides dating Sonny Monroe and Joe Jonas who ended up together who later broke up only for them to work on separate solo projects. Just goes to show that everyone's really close within the Disney family. The only question is who will she name her first child. If it's a girl, the name's truly obvious. If it's a boy, I recommend Zack or Cody. Good thing that the baby will be born within royalty to avoid having a poor girl name. Can't think of any except Maddie. I wonder why?

'Conan's in for a 'Fright'

It's been a while since writing about a new film. The thinking process needed time to rejuvenate and it's back in business. First flick to cover: Conan the Barbarian (2011).

For people who may not have heard about the titular character, Conan's (Jason Momoa) a Cimmerian searching for his village's attackers from the time when he was a young boy. Even at a young age, he was able to handle men twice his height and bring their heads home as his reward. Khalar Zym (Stephen Lang) and his daughter Marique (Rose McGowan) filled with magical detection abilities are organizing a ritual that will allow a long lost member of the family return to the world of the living by inhabiting the body of a True Blood. Along with freeing slaves and torturing members of Zym's calvary to find his adversary, it's up to Conan to fulfill the duty of protecting said True Blood (not a fan of HBO's acclaimed TV series), a female monk named Tamara (Rachel Nichols), to stop said ritual, and keep the world safe from any more blood shed. Then again, he'll have to cause some to make his point of getting his revenge against Zym clear.

The film's a mixed bag. While it has received a lot of hate, the film's enjoyable. Portions of the film such as whether or not Zym's daughter is into her father to fill the hole left in his heart from his wife's passing, Marique creating warriors out of mystical sand to take down our muscle bound hero, Conan vs. the Kraken, and a random sex scene just to bridge a romance between Conan and Tamara might be viewed as unneeded, but, if forgotten, the rest of the films enjoyable. You can forgive the film with its use of green screen backgrounds, easily notable, but more location scouting wouldn't have hurt the film. It would have given a stronger feel of being within Conan's world. With a budget of $90 million, the film's not shaping up to be a hit, but it's still watchable whether in theaters, on TV, and to watch on DVD and Blu-Ray. From there, perhaps the love from some of the fans of the 'Conan' character will be enough to assist it with making its money back. That can take a while.

Up next to review: Fright Night (2011).

Lopez Won't Be On 'Tonight'; 'Tyler Perry TV' Coming Soon?

For those who loved the antics of everyone's favorite ethnic comedian, there's bad news. Lopez Tonight has been canceled.

 ¿Por quĂ©?

The reason for the cancellation of this show is what? Time to pull it out! Time for the Almighty, Old-School

Who wants to bet that, behind closed doors, there was a feud between the network executives and Mr. Lopez. There has to be a valid reason about why the series is receiving this sudden cancelation. While not a watcher of his series day after day, from what was seen, Lopez delivered the laughs while doubling them up from reruns from his hit sitcom on Nick @ Nite. Looking at the ratings, the prediction is that they're fine unless TBS was expecting an increase from the Hispanic community. With him gone, save for the mentioned reruns, who will step into the shoes of being the next big late-night talk show host? I hope that it’s not Tyler Perry. He has gone through that phase before and won’t return to it unless he has a new film that he has written, produced/co-produced, starred, and directed. It’s already bad enough that rumors have begun about him having his own network. Think this is a rumor? Think again.

Let me guess on who gave him the cash.

What will appear on his network that hasn’t been on others before directed toward the African-American community? More reruns of One on One? The Proud Family? Good Times? It was like Lionsgate failed to think about BET and TVOne as the channels delivering what the execs running those networks think that we will watch. If people thought that bringing back Conan the Barbarian without California's former governor was a mistake, try 24 hours of nothing but mind numbing TV with unfunny comedy, stereotypical characters, and, even if classics such as the already mentioned Good Times will appear, is it too early to ask for the return of Fat Albert? Not the live-action/animated film. Just the animated series. It'll be better than seeing Oscar Proud get treated unfairly by his family every episode or looking back to Good Times and becoming angry because someone's parents have seen every episode to the point of annoyance when they prevent their children from changing the channel to watch them all again.

If anything has to get canceled, can it be The Playboy Club? It's NBC being the new MTV thinking that a show with risque themes will rule the roost with ratings on weekday evenings. The show's already not going to be shown in a few affiliates. Why can't the show die or move to basic cable with the likes of HBO and Showtime's programming? Men out here don't want to see any of the action edited especially when it comes to the women.

Also, a little update: Be prepared for a flurry of film reviews including those from last month to keep everyone busy as this writer prepares to return back to school in the Fall.

Where to Take Your Date

I may not have been on a lot of dates, but I know that most couples have had dates at the locations listed in the posted link as the worst to take a future boy/girlfriend. Who would deny that cheering for your favorite team is better than sitting through a crummy film? Who wouldn't enjoy a nice ride on the Ferris Wheel hand in hand? I understand why some women won't come near any of the locations such as preventing from having a queasy stomach and dealing with annoying fans painted from head to toe representing their football team. What do you consider to be the best place to take a date? Perhaps the explanations about why they're great are better than what's seen below.
